One of the UK's most celebrated jazz musicians, Gareth Lockrane is a bandleader, composer and widely regarded as one of the finest jazz flautists working today. His flute soars across movie soundtracks — including Netflix's The Laundromat — and has graced recordings and stages alongside artists as stylistically diverse as Quincy Jones, Lianne La Havas, Seal, Corinne Bailey Rae, Emma Rawicz, Bokani Dyer and Natalie Williams.
For Sligo Jazz Project 2026, Lockrane assembles a stunning nonet — nine musicians drawn from the front ranks of British, American and Irish jazz. Freddie Hendrix brings a New York trumpet voice of rare power and beauty; SJP Young Artist in Residence Sun-Mi Hong is one of the most in-demand drummers on the European scene; Scott Flanigan is a Belfast-born pianist of international standing; and percussionist Paul Clarvis is among the most versatile and sought-after players in the UK. Alongside them, Paul Dunlea, Cathal Roche, Micheal Murray and Conor Murray round out an ensemble that is, quite simply, exceptional.
This is large-ensemble jazz at its most adventurous — rich in texture, alive with colour, and built around one of the instrument's true masters.

Born in London in 1992, Tom Ollendorff is fast establishing himself as one of the most distinctive voices on the international jazz guitar scene. A graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music, his debut album A Song For You (Fresh Sound Records, 2021) drew four-star reviews from the BBC and Jazz Journal, while his most recent release Where in the World — featuring Aaron Parks — has earned rave reviews worldwide. His playing blends virtuosic technique with a sophisticated harmonic language, nuance, and sensitivity; in 2022 he published Etudes for solo guitar with Faber Music, now sold internationally. He has performed at Ronnie Scott's, Glastonbury, the London Jazz Festival and across Europe and Asia.

Sligo Jazz Project All Stars
You might not know every name on the poster yet — but that's kind of our superpower. SJP has a track record of spotting global jazz talent long before the rest of the world catches up, and the SJP All Stars is where we let them all loose on one stage.
Thirty world-class musicians. One revue-style party — zero dull moments! Expect jaw-dropping virtuosity, lightning-fast interplay, and the kind of fun that only happens when elite players are genuinely enjoying themselves. This year's lineup is our sharpest yet: Artist in Residence Aaron Parks, Young Artist in Residence Sun Mi Hong, Band in Residence 3Elements, and UK Jazz Artist of the Year Emma Rawicz lead a fierce mix of Irish and international heavyweights.
Many are sharing a stage for the very first time — so if you like your jazz fresh, edgy and completely unmissable, you're in exactly the right place.
