bura

"One of the best bands on the British jazz scene right now. Inspirational music to leave you brimming over, brilliantly composed and executed with an obvious synergy and joy." (Chris Philips, former head of music at JazzFM)

Tomasz has appeared at some of the top European jazz venues, including Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London and some of the most prominent jazz festivals in Europe, including Jazz à Vienne in France. He has performed live on various TV and radio shows, including MTV Brand New, BBC, Channel 1, BBC Radio 1, BBC London Radio, TSF Jazz in Paris, to name a few.

Since he moved to London from Poland in 2011, Tomasz has been touring Europe and Africa and performing on the biggest music festivals as a featured musician and a bandleader. In 2015 he released his first solo piano album, "Ritual." Mike Gates from the UK Vibe wrote: "Tomasz's glowing technical ability is matured to the point that one senses he doesn't need to think... he just performs, allowing him to produce music that sounds as if it's being played by a pianist well beyond his years."

The same year Bura started to compose new music for a quartet. The idea was to bring together his main musical influences, such as Jazz, Rock, Global, and Classical music, which Tomasz studied in Poland for 14 years. In 2017 He started a collaboration with an award-winning singer Rouhangeze and formed a band. Together they performed at the Jazz Refreshed sessions, Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Jazz Festivals in the UK and Poland.

In 2018 Bura released a 2nd solo piano album called "The Room Upstairs." Tomasz has chosen a Steinway Recording Studio in the UK for this primarily improvised music. In 2020 the UK-based label Ubuntu Music released this album on all platforms digitally. In 2021 following his passion for composition, Tomasz signed a production music deal with Los Angeles-based label "Position Music," which focuses on film music. The same year brought a new collaboration with master guitarist Guthrie Govan, Rouhangeze, drummer Mark Mondesir, and bass player Laurence Cottle.

Tomasz also performed, recorded, and composed music with renowned artists and musicians worldwide such as Harvey Mason, Etienne Mbappe, Evgeny Pobozhiy, Federico Malaman, Gergo Borlai, members of Jamiroquai, Level 42, Incognito, Alex Hutchings, Wretch 32, to name a few. Bura is also dedicated to teaching and has given over 200 workshops in the UK, France, Germany, and Poland.
