MalaFede Trio is one of the most interesting and creative existing projects in the music industry. Electric bassist Federico Malaman - one of the most influential bassists worldwide - founded the trio in 2015, teaming up with two other notable artists in the Italian music scene: guitarist Riccardo Bertuzzi and drummer Ricky Quagliato.

Labeling the trio’s language as “fusion” would seem appropriate though restrictive, since the band’s sound crosses the boundaries of such genre extensively: it is a journey through fusion, jazz and prog, with a touch of avant, where the musicians display their renowned virtuosity without working at the expense of the musicality and balance of the compositions.

Their debut album “Touché” (distributed by setticlavioedizioni ) was released in 2016.The original compositions highlight the versatile nature of the trio, and they were further enriched bytop-class guests such as the American sax player Donald Hayes (Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan), Serena Brancale (one of the most influential singers of the Italian Nu Soul scene), virtuoso sax player Roberto Manzin, and keyboard master Francesco Signorini; Francesco also contributed to the album with an original composition: “Flush”.
