Veronika Morscher
Austrian singer-songwriter and jazz-vocalist Veronika Morscher is based between Cologne and Vienna and has collaborated on numerous projects and albums over the last years. She has won the Culture Prize in the category of Jazz in 2017 in Austria, been awarded the Jazzprize in Bonn in 2019 and last year, was nominated for the German Jazz Prize in 2023 for “Best Vocal Jazz Album of the Year” with her album collaboration “Tales From the Wooden Kingdom” with saxophonist Heiner Schmitz. Veronika co-leads an experimental a cappella ensemble called “Of Cabbages and Kings”, which she composes and arranges for. Together, they have written numerous programs and performed on international stages. In 2023, they released their second album called “Yes And.”
In 2024, Veronika’s new album called “blooming” will be released on Berlin label “LowSwing Records”. It’s her second album of all original music and words and it features the fantastic musicians Kit Downes, Hanno Busch, Lisa Hoppe and Amir Bresler.
Beside her freelance musical work, Veronika is a junior lecturer at art universities in Frankfurt and Vienna and teaches courses in body work, performance coaching, yoga and psychological competences for musicians. She received her musical degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston and the Music and Art University in Vienna and her psychology degree from University of Cologne and Maastricht.
